Is Amsterdam a country or a city in The Netherlands?

Amsterdam is the largest city in and capital of The Netherlands and a very cool place to visit. If you find yourself in Amsterdam and you’ve got some time to spare, nothing beats a simple bike ride through this fantastic village or a private boat trip on the canals. Even after living in the Netherlands for 20 years, seeing Amsterdam like this is a treat. My favorite is biking through the small streets with no destination in mind… there’s no better way to feel the vibes of this city. And seeing the beautiful, historic canal homes/buildings from a boat simply gives a different perspective… there’s always something unique that catches your eye from the water.
