Scheveningen is a small beach town very close to The Hague, the green city in the dunes. About one hour drive from Amsterdam. We stayed at a wonderful resort for our honeymoon there called Amrath Kurhaus, it was absolutely beautiful. There is a long board walk along the beach and pier, filled with bars, restaurants, shops, and amusement rides. We were there for the annual kite festival, which is the largest in the Netherlands. Hundreds of kites of all shapes and sizes were in the sky! Scheveningen has different festivals and events year round. In the summer it is a very popular beach destination. It is also very popular for watersports such as windsurfing and kite-boarding. In the winter they have an annual New Yearâs Dive (Nieuwjaarsduik).
