About

Annelied

annelied
I am one of the first qualified female blacksmith in the Netherlands with a diploma awarded by the Guild of Art

Blacksmiths (Gilde van de Kunstsmeden). The trade is in my blood as I am the fifth generation in a family of blacksmiths. I am passionate about creating bold metallic shapes.

I enjoy the smell of the iron. When I forge, the material is like putty in my hands.

  2. Martin

Such an amazing day, Annelied is an amazing teacher and explained everything really clearly. I had such great time and left with a viking knife that I made from start to finish. 100% recommend and I will be back for another day in the future

Groeten, Bart Speller

My husband and I booked a private session with Annelied and it was a blast! We had never spent any time in a forge but left with a wealth of knowledge thanks to Annelied’s expert tutelage. She taught us several different techniques and was there to help, but really encouraged us to do it all on our own- only helping when we clearly needed it. By the end we each had our own knives of which we are both quite proud. I highly recommend the experience- if you’re considering it… do it!

I received a voucher for this course for Christmas and finally managed to attend it. It was a lovely day after which you’ll be quite sore – from standing and walking all day and of course from swinging the hammer. I enjoyed it a lot and despite being the only English speaking person I managed to talk to some people a bit and Annelied made sure I got the gist of what was going on 🙂 Would definitely recommend!
