Daily itinerary

Day 1 — Arrive in Rotterdam

Check in to your room at Hotel Pincoffs from 3 pm. You can spend the day discovering the surroundings of the hotel on your own. Hotel Pincoffs used to be a customs building in the old harbors. It is located on the Kop van Zuid, not far from the Erasmus Bridge, the Entrepothaven and the atmospheric Binnenhaven, one of the oldest harbors in Rotterdam, with sunny terraces and a variety of restaurants. Dinner tip for tonight? Restaurant Aloha on the Maas. Everything here revolves around maximum creativity with radically different methods and producing as little waste as possible. Definitely worth a visit!

Day 2 — visit to Floating Farm and Blue City

Today you will get on your bike and in the morning you will visit the first floating farm in the world: the Floating Farm. The priorities of this farm are animal welfare, circularity, sustainability and innovation, so-called transfarmation. During the tour you will discover the passion for sustainability, meet the main residents (the cows) and see how the milk is processed into healthy dairy products.

In the afternoon you cycle to the other side of the city to visit Blue City. A number of circular economy pioneers have gathered in the former swimming paradise Tropicana. Now it is a breeding ground for innovative companies that link their residual flows to each other: the waste from one entrepreneur is the raw material for another entrepreneur. For example, fruit waste from the market is transformed into a leather-like material for bags. Coffee grounds are used to grow oyster mushrooms. Get inspired because this is just the beginning!

Day 3 — Circular bicycle tour with guide

On this morning you can sleep in, have breakfast, pack your things and check out. The bike tour with guide Astrid starts at 11 am. The main theme of the day is the circular economy and sustainability. You will visit inspiring initiatives and passionate entrepreneurs, all with a social message. For example: the edible city garden of Rotterdamse Munt, the sustainable camping items of Culture Campsite, the circular oyster mushroom nursery of Rotterzwam and DakAkker, the largest urban agricultural roof in Europe.

The bike tour ends with a drink at “Free State” Weelde. It has been a long and busy day, but when you get home, you will certainly look back with pleasure at this inspiring micro-adventure!

Where will you sleep?
